GRETA ELEANOR STROMBERG (nee OLSEN) December 29, 1932 - September 18, 2012. Greta passed away at East Gate Lodge following a brief battle with cancer. Predeceased by her first husband JOA (Sam) Payette, second husband Tom Stromberg and her son Ken. She was also predeceased by her parents Freida and Karl Olsen and her siblings Carl and Mabel. She is survived by her loving daughters Michele (Fred) Mills, Penny (Bob) Schoonbaert, Nita (Blaine) McBurney, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her step-children Paula, Linda, Cindy and Lori and their families, her sister Freda, brother-in-law Roger Payette (Diane), extended family and friends. Greta was a loving, kind person who so enjoyed her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and loved to spend time with them. Telling stories and singing songs was always a favourite time and we will all cherish the fond memories. We would like to extend special thanks to the staff at the Rose Unit, East Gate Lodge for their tender loving care of Mom. Funeral service will be held on Monday September 24, 2012, at 1:00 p.m., Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main St., Winnipeg. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to East Gate Lodge, Box 1690, Beausejour, MB R0E 0C0.
