SYLVIA MARGARET SLOAN (nee LESTER) October 10, 1947 September 28, 2012 Sylvia Sloan passed away peacefully on September 28, 2012, at the Chinook Hospice in Calgary at the age of 64 years. She will be lovingly remembered by her children Sean Sloan of Emo, ON and Christine (Clint) Fontaine of Calgary, AB; her grandchildren Nicholas and Ava Sloan of Emo, ON, and Miles and Isabell Fontaine of Calgary, AB; her father Sydney Lester; her siblings Donna Lester of Winnipeg, MB, Sydney (Norma) Lester of Calgary, AB, Paul (Eva) Lester of Winnipeg, MB, Lyle (Cherlotte) Lester of McGrath, AB and David (Lori) Lester of East St. Paul, MB; as well as numerous extended family. She was predeceased by her husband of 35 years, Patrick Sloan and her mother Ester Lester. Sylvia was a member of the Beta Sigma Pho Sorority. After she and Patrick were married, Patrick's career in the RCAF had them living and travelling across Canada and the USA. Over the years, Sylvia worked as an administrative assistant as well as a customer service manager. Yoga was an integral part of her life and in the past four years she became a yoga instructor. She also had a lifelong passion for travelling and cooking. A Celebration of Life will be held at Pierson's Forest Lawn Chapel (4121 17 Ave SE) on Friday, October 5, 2012 at 12:00 noon.
