GLENN A. URQUHART It is with great sadness that the family of Glenn A. Urquhart, Q.C. announces his death on November 12, 2012 in Vancouver. He was 74. Glenn leaves his beloved wife, Karen Nordlinger, his sons Darren (Tuyet) and Robert (Kerry), four grandchildren Zena, Leia, Maxwell and Dexter, and his sister Anita McDougald (Ed McDougald). Glenn had a long and distinguished legal career. In addition to his law degree he was also a mechanical engineer, a strong combination of skill sets that served him well. He was a co-founder of Singleton Urquhart, one of the leading law firms in Vancouver. He was also a founding member of the Canadian College of Construction Lawyers. Later in his career he sat as a Judicial Justice of the Peace in Small Claims Court, and was active as a Chartered Arbitrator and Mediator. His many friends who knew or worked with him respected his keen mind, wicked sense of humour and wonderful laugh, all essential ingredients for a successful and happy life, which he had. He loved to travel with as many friends and family as possible, and was an active member of the Jericho Tennis Club. He loved his weekends at his and Karen's farm outside Vancouver. He was active in his many pursuits until just two weeks ago. He faced his final illness with courage and determination, and will be greatly missed by all those who knew and loved him. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Lung Cancer Research at BC Cancer Foundation at 686 West Broadway, Vancouver, BC V5Z 1G1. A celebration of Glenn's life will be held at a future date.
