JOHN ANDERSON DAGG August 10, 1927 - November 9, 2012 It with heavy hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of John (Jack) Dagg at the Riverview Health Centre. Dad battled prostate and bone cancer actively and courageously at home for many years and was only at Riverview for one short week. Thank you so very much to the very caring staff of 3E, especially his nurse Danielle. The world's best dad and papa will be greatly missed by Cheryl and Dave MacMillan and family, as well as Jennifer Cramer and family. A fuller story of Jack's life will be forthcoming. A remembrance gathering will be held at a later date.

Condolences & Memories (1 entries)

  • Jack hired me and was my boss at Transport Canada until he retired. I have nothing but great memories of the times we worked together. Well respected by his peers and directors. He had a great sense of humor and made coming to work a pleasure. Knew when to encourage and when to strongly suggest maybe things could have been done differently. Jack had an incredible memory and with his attention to detail and meticulous record keeping nothing slipped by him. Asked about a previous order or action taken he could usually quote the year and month regardless of how far back it was. To top it all off he was so charming and vivacious that you couldn't be mad even if he was right all the time. With the change of Transport Canada to NavCanada and my subsequent transfer to Edmonton I lost touch with Jack but I always embrace what he once said to me. "Ken you will always remember what's important to you" . Jack you were an important part of my life and career. I will never forget you as a great boss, mentor/coach and friend. Goodbye and as you always signed off on your correspondence "Cheers" ken ken - Posted by: Ken Folkers (One of Jack's employees in his days at Transport Canada) on: Nov 18, 2012
