EVA MILDRED BOWIE (SIMPSON)
Date of Passing: Dec 03, 2012
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryEVA MILDRED BOWIE (SIMPSON) On December 3, 2012 at Boyne Lodge, Carman, Manitoba, Eva Mildred Bowie, aged 94, passed away peacefully with her family by her side. With her passing the world lost what could best be described as a Universal Woman , as all those that knew her are well aware. Mom was caring and nurturing to all; was a naturalist; and an accomplished artisan (natural crafts, photography, original ceramic art, water colour art), gardener (known all over West Hawk Lake), seamstress, chef , and much more. Mildred, together with husband Bill, created a world of opportunity for their children and their immediate relatives and friends, teaching the love of nature and an I can do it attitude. Those who experienced the Bowie cottage at West Hawk Lake, do not forget it! Mildred was a Lieutenant, R.C.A.F., Women's Division (Second World War), a Brown Owl and an Elder, at St. Andrews United Church and a volunteer at the Manitoba Museum of Man and Nature. Mildred is survived by and will be sadly missed by her sons Bill (Leigh), Jim, and daughters Pam (Dan) Saunders, and Val; ten grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; sister Claire (Ralph) Lloyd, sister-in-law Beryl (Alf) Cancilla, and many nephews, nieces and their families, and her special cat Sammy. Mildred was predeceased by her husband Bill; brother Leslie (Muriel) Simpson; parents Alonzo and Lillian Simpson, and parents-in-law James and Inez Bowie. A special thanks to the staff at Boyne Lodge for their care, compassion and support. At Mildred's request there will not be a funeral. Any donations would be greatly appreciated to Winnipeg Pet Rescue or to the Manitoba Natural History Society. A private family service will be held at a later date.
