Condolences & Memories (10 entries)

  • I just discovered that Gladys hung up her blades. In the 1950s, Gladys was the VERY BEST friend that one could have. I always treasured the inseparable years we had together. We would spend 5 hours every single night playing hockey at Isaac Brock Community Center. She was a better hockey player than most of the boys our age. I don't know if Gladys was as good a hockey player as Andy at the same age but she was GOOD, VERY GOOD. We never had any money but they were the most carefree and happy years. Gladys was always cheerful. I NEVER EVER saw her angry or upset. The police pulled us over one afternoon, way out in the boonies in St James. She and I had 'borrowed' her Dad's car and I was 'teaching' her how to drive. Neither of us were old enough for a driver's license yet. I don't think I saw her for a few days afterwards. So thankful that we were able to share some time together again a couple of years ago. A wonderful person. My sincere condolences to her children and grandchildren. See you again soon Gladys.
