JACK MIGHTON On December 2, 2012, at the Richmond Hospital in Richmond, BC, Jack Mighton passed away peacefully with his wife Ilene and family members at his side. Jack was predeceased by his brothers Austin and Ross; and sister Murial Dodds. Jack is survived by his wife Ilene, his sons Gerald (Donna) and Ken, his daughters Jane, Carol (Tim), and Kathy (Rob). Jack had 10 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Jack was 87 years old and was born in Okla, Saskatchewan. The late 1920s and 30s were poor years for Jack, and many others of the time. He was separated from his family at an early age but was fortunate to be cared for by a number of wonderful families through his early years. A special thanks goes out to the Fitchell's in Saskatoon and the Ladukes of Kelvington, Saskatchewan. Jack worked as a Royal Bank teller in various small communities throughout Saskatchewan, eventually meeting his future wife Ilene at the age of 17 in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. Jack and Ilene married in 1945. Jack worked for MacCoshams Transport in the early 50s, then moving over to the CN Express in the late 50s. The CN was good for Jack, offering him advancement and a chance to work in Saskatchewan, Manitoba, Quebec, Nova Scotia and Alberta. In 1984, Jack retired from the CN, and he and Ilene built their dream home in Qualicum Beach. For 26 years they developed many wonderful friendships and memories in Qualicum Beach where they golfed, curled and used their home as a holiday retreat for family and friends. In 2009, Jack and Ilene moved to Courtyard Gardens in Richmond, BC. A private family service was held in Richmond. In lieu of flowers please donate to your charity of choice.
