Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryJOSEPH ELIE ERSTELLE Joseph Elie Erstelle, 88, of Winnipeg, passed away on Thursday December 27, 2012. Elie was born February 16, 1924, in St. Laurent Manitoba where he grew up with 12 other siblings. As a young man, he joined the Army reserves and later worked for Sydney I Robinson as a fur grader, in Winnipeg where he made his life and home. He met and married the late Marie Rose Tourond Weiss, and they lived together in Winnipeg. Elie enjoyed many hobbies including fishing, camping, darts, bowling and golf. He loved animals and shared his home with many pets through the years. As a great storyteller, he told of his life growing up and the events of everyday life. He made friends with ease, and was able to share with everyone he met. Elie was always full of fun and pranks of which no one who knew him was ever spared. Elie is survived by his caregivers: stepdaughter Sandra Anderson, granddaughter Kimberly and husband Tom Villeneuve, his sisters: Mary, Flora, Rose/Bill, Cecile/Jim, Loretta, Ginnette, Delma/Reid, Vera/Stan, (Predeceased by his sister: Susan) and brothers: Gus, Lenard/Evelyn, Joe/Dianne, (Predeceased by his brother: Henry and wife Jocelyn) He is survived by many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. A memorial service will take place Thursday, January 10, 2013, at 2:00 p.m. at St. Andrew's River Heights Church, 255 Oak Street, in Winnipeg, with Reverend Karen Lumley officiating.
