Dear mother of Geraldine Jacobs and the late Marilyn, Graham and Roderick. Loving grandmother of Steven, Brent, Paul, and great-grandmother of Anna, Samantha, Christopher, Ryan and Reid. She is survived by her sister Marjorie Hawkes. Friends will be received at the Dixon-Garland Funeral Home, 166 Main St. N. (Markham Road) Markham Ontario on Tuesday, January 8, 2013, from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Service in Grace Anglican Church, 19 Parkway Ave., Markham on Wednesday at 11:00 a.m. Cremation. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Alzheimer's Society would be appreciated.

Gerry, I have so many fond memories of growing up in your home. Your Mom used to refer to me as their fifth child! She was such a pioneer.... she was an independent woman at a time when that wasn't the norm. And she always struck me as so competent and capable. She worked as a nurse, golfed, curled, and even at quite an advanced age still thought nothing of getting in the car and driving out to the cabin!
