DORIS LACOVETSKY (nee WOLODARSKY) Surrounded by the love of her family, Doris Lacovetsky passed away on January 10, 2013. Doris was born on August 10, 1920 to Joseph and Florence Wolodarsky. She was the oldest of seven children. Doris married Fred Lacovetsky on April 26, 1941 and together they enjoyed 63 wonderful years. Doris was predeceased by her parents, in-laws, Alec and Lizzie Lacovetsky, husband Fred Lacovetsky, brother Jack Wolodarsky, sister Marilyn Levitt, sister-in-law, Shirley Wolodarsky, brothers-in-law Sid Bagel and Larry Usiskin, son-in-law Martin Levitt, niece Ellen Chochinov, her sisters-in-law Shirley Pawlow, Sophie Lacoff, Marion Lacovetsky, and brothers-in-law Ben Frankel, Sheldon Pawlow, Sam Lacoff and Arnie Lacovetsky. Left to cherish Doris' memory are her daughter Francine Levitt (known to family as Faigie), sons Alan (Joanne) and Laurie, sisters Roz Usiskin, Shirley Chochinov (Dave), Vity Bagel, brother Velvel Wolodarsky (Ann Marie), sister-in-law Tillie Frankel, five grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, and her many nieces and nephews. Doris had a zest for life and focused much of her time and energy on her immense family and her many friends. Being a mother and grandmother was her greatest joy in life. She was greatly involved in all their lives, taking pride in all of their accomplishments. Doris and Fred spent many wonderful summers at the Gimli trailer park with many of their friends. She had a huge heart and loved people. Doris had a very active social life with many life long, close friends. Doris was so fortunate on so many levels. There are few people who go through life surrounded by generation and generation of so much love, support and devotion. In her final days the true success of her life was realized when she said that she had a wonderful life, no regrets and she was ready to move on. The family would like to thank Dr. Snoveda, and all of the people who gave us so much support from the W.R.H.A. Palliative Care Program. If friends so desire, donations can be made in memory of Doris to the palliative care program. Address is: W.R.H.A. Palliative Care Program, A8024- 409 Tache Ave., Winnipeg, MB R2H 2A6.
