Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryETHEL MITCHELL It is with deep sorrow we announce that Ethel Mitchell peacefully passed away on January 8, 2013, at the age of 91 years. Ethel was born in Winnipeg on December 27, 1921, daughter of the late W M.T Mitchell and Amy Louise Mitchell. She lived the majority of her life from a very young age on Jubilee Ave. in Winnipeg. Ethel loved her home and remained living there until nine months before her passing. She enjoyed gardening and had a beautiful yard where something was always flowering from spring to fall. Ethel retired from the federal government (veteran's land administration) In December of 1976 with 35 years of service, was a member of the federal superannuates national association, and an associate member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch #97. She also enjoyed the symphony, played golf and was an avid bowler with memberships in the south-end ladies bowling league, mainliners bowling league and the golden rule seniors. Ethel also had a passion and talent for painting and a love of African violet plants, which was very evident by the collection of both in her home. She was a very sweet and caring person, who had a true love of all animals, especially cats. Ethel will be dearly missed by her neighbors and friends Mike, Nicole and Rory as well as her very dear friend Verlina who all loved and cared for her. We wish to extend our heartfelt thanks to all the wonderful people who cared for Ethel in her home and at the interim care facility at the Misericordia Hospital. Cremation has taken place and a graveside service will be held at the family plot in the Brookside cemetery on Thursday, January 24, 2013, at 11:00 a.m. Flowers gratefully declined and donations may be made to a charity of your choice THOMSON IN THE PARK 925-1120 Condolences may be sent to www.thomsoninthepark.com -
