  • Georgette and family, It was with great sadness that Doug read the passing of Paul in the paper earlier this week. He and Doug had many an arousing talks when we lived across the street from you. Doug got to know Paul much better than I did. I do remember one very comical exchange with Paul, and may this give you a little giggle,on day I approached Doug and Paul as they were talking at the end of your driveway. After a few moments Paul said to me,"are you wearing Patchuli Wendy?" I replied that I was indeed and Paul started to laugh and said,"that's what the hippies used to wear." I replied," that's right Paul, didn't you know that I'm just an old hippie", at which point Paul had a good laugh and I laughed with him at the thought that being the quaint old biddy across the street couldn't possible have been a hippie! On a more serious note, please accept our heartfelt condolences at the loss of Paul. He was always a happy go lucky guy, one who could lift your spirits and bring a little positivity to life. Sincerely, Doug and Wendy Holmes - Posted by: Doug & Wendy Holmes ( Neighbours) on: Jan 25, 2013

  • Having known Paul through work, his brothers and sisters, his friendship with my brothers, mutual friends, and community club sports, I was able to see him in many different environments. He always had a smile on his face, a great sense of humour and a light-hearted disposition. He was always pleasant company and the type of person you could not walk past without sharing a smile, a greeting, a witty remark, or a nice conversation. I used to tease him about shaving or owning a comb just to get that grin. It was sad to see him leave work, and sadder to hear of his passing. On behalf of those who knew him from Line Maintenance at Manitoba Hydro, we send you our sincere sympathy. Chuck Joyal - Posted by: Chuck Joyal (Friend / Co-worker) on: Jan 25, 2013
