RICHARD (DICK) GORDON McCUTCHEON Peacefully with his daughters and close friend Charlie (Chuck) by his side, Dick passed away after a short illness at the age of 72 on January 24, 2013. Dick was born and raised in Flin Flon, Manitoba where he made many lifelong friends. After high school he moved to Winnipeg to pursue his education. Dick soon found out that he had a strong business sense and spent his career in sales of all kinds. Dick was predeceased by his parents Max and Daisy and his beloved son Bryan. He is survived by his daughters Heather (Brad), Brenda (Doug), grandchildren Bryan and Grace and the mother of his children Marion. He also leaves to cherish his memory, his sisters Maxine (Glenn) and Linda (Dick), numerous nieces, nephews, other family members and many friends. Dick was a very outgoing, friendly person who was always willing to strike up a conversation, or debate about any topic. He loved to be around people and sought out opportunities to socialize, especially with his friends at The Wood . Dick enjoyed the outdoors and was an avid fisherman and hunter. This allowed him time to be with his good friends, as well as his most beloved dogs Belle and later Barney. Dick loved his family deeply and was especially proud of his grandchildren Bryan and Grace. They were the light of his life and could get him to do anything for them. The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to the Doctors and Nurses at Concordia Hospital for the care and compassion that they showed to Dick and his family. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Ronald McDonald House, 566 Bannatyne Ave., Winnipeg, MB R3A 0G7, a charity that was dear to his heart. A celebration of Dick's life will be held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, January 30 at Thomson In the Park Funeral Home, 1291 McGillivray Blvd. THOMSON IN THE PARK 925-1120 Condolences may be sent to www.thomsoninthepark.com

  • I have known Dick for over fifty years - he became a close friend of my brother Bryan and spent a lot of time at our house. My sister and I began to call him our "other brother" and since then he has always been our other brother. Over the years I have seen him many times at family functions and in restaurants in Winnipeg and Kenora. Although I did not see him often, I will miss the chance to see him again. My husband Bob and I send our condolences to the family. - Posted by: Lois Robinson (friend) on: Jan 26, 2013
