As a high school friend of Rita's daughter Melody, I visited the Elliots' home on occasion and loved visits with Mrs. Elliot. I was so impressed by her love of reading and her large book collection, and I was so sorry to see her lively personality and intelligent mind lost to a terrible disease. Now, her suffering is over. I will remember her as a lovely, resourceful, resilient woman who raised three wonderful daughters. Help put an end to Alzheimer disease, in her memory! - Posted by: Barbara (Anderson) Shewchuk (Melody's high school freind) on: Apr 05, 2013

My sincere condolences to you & your families. I just learned of Rita's passing from Pat. She was one of my favorite teachers and inspired me to become one, too. And, of course, she and my mom Linda were always good friends. May you have wonderful memories to comfort you! - Posted by: Marliene Lutz(Kerbrat) (Former student) on: Mar 10, 2013
