Condolences & Memories (7 entries)

  • We have so many fond memories of Ed it's hard to know where to begin. Every one of us was drawn to Ed because of his many qualities, all of us are better for having known him. Ed lead a fantastic life...so diverse...so interesting and successful in everything he did. I will never forget a man who was fiercely proud of his heritage and many accomplishments. He was a no-nonsense man with strong morals and high standards. He spoke his mind and was not afraid of any challenge. You had better know what you were talking about when talking to Ed. Ed was definitely the kind of man you would measure yourself against. I know I did. Part of what we loved about Ed is the way he approached everything - passionately...but never in a way that attracted a lot of attention. One example was photographs. Ed took pictures. But he didn't just take pictures, he took portraits. Forever keepsakes that one treasured for a lifetime. No big deal for Ed, for us a treasured moment perfectly captured. Or West End Tire. Ed didn't just run a business, he built a reputation and made customers for life. He helped his staff grow and succeed. Ed didn't just exist, he improved the lives of everyone he touched. He would tell you his best decision in life was to ask his "Wicky" to marry him. To see such strong love over the decades has always been so inspiring. Words are not enough to express the sadness we feel but we are consoled somewhat by the many wonderful memories of Ed, his sense of humour, his generous nature, his stories and remembering his zest for life. Ed...you will be missed but you will remain in our hearts and minds forever.
