PATRICIA ANNE DUVELL (nee ROWAN) With hearts filled with sorrow, we announce the passing of our very dear friend Patricia Anne Duvell who passed away on April 17, 2013 surrounded by her friends. Tricia was predeceased by her husband Norm Duvell and her loving mother Mary Anne (Mina) Rowan. Tricia was born in Hong Kong on September 18, 1953 and spent her early years growing up in England until she and her mother moved to British Columbia. Tricia lived in Vancouver until 1975 when she moved to Winnipeg and began working at the House of Lords in the CP Hotel. She worked for many years in the hotel and restaurant industry until she returned to school in the late 80s to pursue a career in the travel industry. Tricia's passion for travel began very early in life, which led her to many distant and exotic places. It was a natural progression for her to pursue a career in the travel industry and to develop into one of the top leisure travel agents in Canada. Many words come to mind to describe Tricia. She was vivacious, elegant, compassionate, sophisticated and incredibly witty. However, most importantly, she was a true and loyal friend. Her sense of style was legendary she was the "Lady of the Manor". Tricia demonstrated tremendous courage during her lengthy illness and she continued to conduct herself in a graceful and dignified manner, often during very difficult times. A special thanks to the medical staff who assisted Tricia with care and compassion and especially to the staff and doctors of H.S.C., ICU. Tricia travelled and lived life in the same way -"First Class". We will miss her dearly! Cremation has taken place and a Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday, May 3, 2013 at 1:00 p.m. at St. Ignatius Church, 255 Stafford St., Winnipeg, MB. In lieu of flowers, should friends so desire, donations in Tricia's memory can be made to the Winnipeg Humane Society, or to a charity of your choice.

I am so sorry to hear of Tricia's passing I had the pleasure of working with her for a short period of time and still kept in touch with her periodically, unfortunately I have just heard she had passed. I’m so sorry to hear of Patricia’s passing. She was my travel agent for years; I loved our visits; we discussed our trips and our next adventures. She was warm, caring, funny and one “Classy Lady”. Tricia was my travel agent for many years, and she was the best! I would love to visit with her several times a year, often just dropping in for a chat as I walked by her office. She was always so much fun, we would spend a lot of time laughing and I would always leave with a big smile. I saw her on her last day of work and was shocked when she told me about her illness, but she was very positive and said she would be back by Christmas. I inquired about her often and wished I would have asked her for her email address so I could have kept in touch. She was a great person and fabulous travel agent.
