MARY FRIESEN (GIESBRECHT)

MARY FRIESEN (nee GIESBRECHT) Mary Jane Friesen left us May 8, 2013 to be with her Lord and Saviour. She was predeceased by her husband Elvin, infant daughter, and one grandson. She is survived by her seven siblings, three children - Rod, Lauren (Dee), Joy (Ed), eight grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren. Mary was born July 8, 1930, in Altona, MB. She endured her hardships in life through much prayer and faith in her Redeemer. Many years were spent volunteering in senior homes, where she was loved and appreciated by many. She was a strong and determined woman, whose sense of humour was evident as she tackled her physical challenges over the years. Funeral service will be on Tuesday, May 14, 10:00 a.m. at Meadowood Manor, 577 St. Annes Rd., St. Vital. Officiated by Pastor Terry Zimmerly. Interment to follow at 1:30 p.m. at the Bergfeld EMMC, near Plum Coulee, MB. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Access Home Street Project, Home Street Mennonite Church, 318 Home Street, Winnipeg, MB R3G 1X4. Rest in peace mom, until we meet again.
