EDITH (EADIE) MURPHY (nee KULL) January 27, 1930 - July 16, 2013 With sadness we announce the passing of our dear mother, wife, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. We were blessed to have such a precious, caring, patient, and strong person in our lives who truly gave unconditional love. Eadie was born and raised in Winnipeg, the second of three daughters to Philip and Elizabeth Kull. She was predeceased by her parents and brother-in-law William (Bill) Yakel. She leaves behind her husband Noel, three sons Greg (Diane), Len (Karen), and Phil (Cheryl), as well as two sisters Emma Yakel, and Ellen (Bruce) Bancroft, eight grandchildren Colette (Darcey), Stacey, Matthew, Jaclyn, Stephanie (Chris), Ryan (Christin), Braden (Courtney), Riley, two great-grandchildren, Madisen and Olivia, and three generations of nieces and nephews. She will also be missed by Noel's two daughters, Kim (Mark) and Debbie, two grandsons Mitchel and Liam, and great-grandson Tenchi. In 1982 Eadie took a giant leap of faith moving to the East Coast and marrying Noel Murphy. Her love and devotion to Noel was equalled only by his for her. His sense of adventure was contagious and together they lived their dreams. One of those dreams included a 12 year sailing adventure from Nova Scotia to the Caribbean Sea, and beyond. Can you believe a prairie girl was "Yachtsperson of the Year" at the Silver Fox Yacht Club in PEI! They settled near Bridgewater NS, on the LaHave River, down the road from the Yacht Club where she will forever be remembered as a devoted friend, confidant and cook extraordinaire. A celebration of life will be held at the LaHave River Yacht Club at a date to be announced. Very recently Eadie spent time with her sons at the South Shore Regional Hospital. It was evident she was receiving exceptional care. The staff of doctors and nurses must be recognized for their professionalism and compassion. To her many friends who gathered and displayed their love for Mom, thank you from the bottom of our hearts. Mom requested cremation and a return home to Winnipeg where she will be reunited with her parents at the Elmwood Cemetery. A celebration of Eadie's life will be held at the Holy Cross Lutheran Church, 708 McCalman Avenue, Winnipeg, MB, on Thursday, September 19, 2013 at 1:00 p.m. Her love is clearly and permanently etched in our hearts and minds.
