IRENE MARIA MAGYAR (NAGY) May 7, 1937 September 6, 2013 It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Irene Maria Magyar, peacefully on Friday, September 6, 2013. Left to remember her with great love are her husband of 56 years, Frank Magyar, daughters Susanne Magyar and Sylvia Magyar Brambilla (Armando), and grandchildren Lexie of Sydney, Australia, and Jessie Magyar-Chapiel. Irene will also be missed by sisters-in-law Julia Hegedus (Joseph) and family of Toronto, Vera Sabo and family of Solvania, Maria Magyar and family (Winnipeg), and many other relatives, good friends and neighbours. Irene was predeceased by her mother Irene Benyik in 1996, and many other family members and close friends including Terri, Viola, Maria, Ili and Sophie. Mom enjoyed travelling with Dad to Hawaii and Mexico. She loved swimming in the ocean and suntanning, and in her last two years, loved spending time in "her own private pool" at Boulton Bay. Our family thanks Dr. Stanley Eng, and the wonderful staff at CancerCare and the St. Boniface Hospital Palliative Care Unit for their care and compassion. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to CancerCare Manitoba or the Children's Hospital. A Celebration of Life Service for Irene will be held at Chapel Lawn on Thursday, September 12, at l0:00 a.m. Rest in Peace Mom Nyugodj Bekiben

  • Although I haven't seen my Kereszt Mama for quite a few years due to moving to BC, I think of her with great fondness and love. Everytime I saw her as a child she made me feel very special. She was such a kind, loving lady with so much love to share with everyone. Rest in peace Kereszt Mama...you will be in my heart and memories forever. To Kereszt Papa and the Magyar family my deepest sympathies and love. Lily - Posted by: Lil Ruchelski (Sarkany, Lily) (God daughter) on: Sep 10, 2013

  • To Susanne and family. I am holding you close in my heart, my prayers and my thoughts are with you. I have the fondest memories of the family gatherings I was honored to be included in. I always enjoyed my conversations with your sweet Mom; she so loved her family. An Angel on Earth, may her spirit soar in the heavens. She will be missed and will live forever in your memories.
