MARIE-ROSE LORD In Saint-Hyacinthe, QC, on September 16, 2013, Marie-Rose Lord (Sister Madeleine-du-Bon-Pasteur) passed away at the age of 100 years and six months. 79 of them in religious life of which 18 as teacher in Manitoba schools, 37 as artist painter for her congregation in Manitoba and 14 in Quebec. She was born in Saint-Damase, L'Islet, QC, the daughter of Alphonse Lord and Maria Kirouac, the first child of a family of 17 children: 12 girls and five boys. In 1921, the family moved to La Broquerie, Manitoba. To mourn her passing, she leaves a sister, Yvette (Laurent Dion) stepsister-in-law Madeleine Boily (late Edouard), brother-in-law Larry Saint-Laurent (late Madeleine), as well as many nephews and nieces, other relatives, and many lifelong friends. Her funeral was held on Thursday, September 19 in the chapel of the mother house of the Sisters of Saint Joseph, followed by burial in the cemetery of the congregation.
