WILLIAM MANNING It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our dearly beloved father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, William Manning, who passed away after a short illness at the Peace Arch Hospital in White Rock, BC on September 26, 2013, at the age of 90 years. Bill was predeceased by his wife Norma (whom he dearly missed) on August 24, 2012. He was also predeceased by his infant son Corbett, his son, Bobby, brother, Bob; and his sister Harriet; as well as his sister-in-law, Shirley Hensrud. Bill is survived by his daughter, Sandra Nozick (Stanley), son, Bill Jr. (Colleen); grandchildren, Joel Nozick (Virginia), Leanne Feldman (Steven), and Michelle Manning; great-granddaughter, Avigail Feldman; sisters-in-law, Bev Wright (Jack) and Elayne Cheop (Frank); and brother-in-law, Don Johnson (Joan), along with many nieces and nephews. Bill was born on April 5, 1923, in Transcona, Manitoba, and married his beloved Norma as soon as she turned 18 years. Bill worked with CN and VIA Railroads for 44 years and received many letters of commendation. After Norma's passing, Bill moved to British Columbia, to be close to his daughter, granddaughter and family. Although his time in British Columbia was short, he was proud to be in BC, and carried with him his boarding pass from Winnipeg and the brochure from the assisted living facility where he was residing. Bill couldn't get over the view from his apartment window of the trees and mountains, and commented often how lucky he was to be in BC. Cremation has taken place and his remains have returned to Winnipeg to be interned with his beloved Norma. A celebration of Bill's life will be held in the spring of 2014. Donations in Bill's memory can be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.
