LOIS VENNING COHLMEYER 1922-2013 Lois was a wonderful wife and mother of four boys. She grew up in Ravinia, Illinois, where her favourite memories were of long summer afternoons on the beaches of Lake Michigan. She studied at Smith College and at the University of Iowa in fine arts. In addition to being a great Cub Scout leader for all of the boys, she was an accomplished artist and weaver - illustrating books, doing drawings for archaeological records and creating complex woven tapestries and rugs. Lois met Bob Cohlmeyer, a young architect, in Kansas City (they decided to marry two weeks after they met) - and was happily married for 57 years. Over the decades Lois and Bob spent many months hiking and camping in the Rocky Mountains. They lived in Kansas, Illinois, New Mexico and Oregon and moved to Winnipeg in 1993. Lois leaves behind many great memories, her four sons, Dave, Steve, Jo and Chris, their wives and children, and two great-grandchildren. The family wants to give special and public thanks to Shelly Letkeman for her years of friendship and help as Lois grew older. Requiem Pace
