• Shirley my sincerest condolences to you and your family. I met Al in riverview in the mid 40's and grew up with him through sports and area activities. • Fondly remembered as "Big Red"! Al was one of a close group of friends that grew up together in the "Banana Belt" of Canada...the Riverview district of Winnipeg...in the '40s and '50s. Game for anything but respected for his athletic ability, loyalty and good sense. In the days of true sandlot teams he enjoyed football and hockey but baseball was his sport. He shared a wonderful marriage with Shirley and family was their focus. In recent years I did a lot of reminiscing about old times and old friends wishing that things could stay the same....but we knew they couldn't!
