Condolences & Memories (9 entries)

  • We met Ron and Linda at Deer Lodge Centre where they both volunteered. They met with my Dad (Irvin) to read Scripture and pray with him and to encourage him. This was a great blessing to Dad....and to us. We will be praying for your family during this difficult time. Praise God that Ron is no longer suffering. His life was a great blessing. • I met him at the family life center on Pitchard Ave where my mom used to go to every Wednesday morning. He always had a smile on his face and I felt welcome when I used to stop by to find my mom. It's sad to know he's gone but I am happy he made it home to be in Heaven. - Posted by: Miriam Sarah Sanderson (friend) on: Nov 14, 2013

  • I first met Ron in church in Winnipeg Beach. I had a great respect for him and always enjoyed his humour. He was the kind of friend who, even when a significant time passed since you had seen him, it only felt like yesterday. There was always a kindred spirit with him. I was proud to call him my friend. Our thoughts and prayers are with you at this time of loss. - Posted by: Bruce Dewald (friend) on: Nov 13, 2013

  • Ron John Jim (as called by my husband Tim Jim Bob) and I met Ron at Family fun nights a couple years ago when our granddaughter was attending Faith Academy Pritchard. Ron had a hard time remembering Tim's name since Tim would say something different each time Ron would talk to him LOL. Hence where the three names they would call each other every time they seen each other. Ron was a lot of fun, and we were always laughing with him. Ron was always so eager to make us laugh and we will miss him dearly! So sorry for the loss of this fine Christian man and I hope that he is having a blast playing Pictionary up in Heaven! We hope he has a great team that we had...or even better! See you one day Ron, save a spot on your team for us!! - Posted by: Cynthia Jones (Friend) on: Nov 13, 2013

  • Ron was a great Father-In-Law and will be missed dearly. I have known Ron for 10 wonderful years and he was always there to lend a helping hand, no matter what he had going on, he would always make time to help in any way he could. Through his life Ron has touched so many people in different ways and with his passing his mentorship and advice will continue to touch the hearts of people who knew him and those who hear life stories about him. Ron was always willing to listen and provide advice; he was very knowledgeable about so many things. Ron loved to work on his model trains and had a great passion for cars and used to work on Austin Minis. Ron loved NASCAR with his favorite racer being #48 Jimmie Johnson. Ron also liked to watch his favorite NHL team the Philadelphia Flyers. There is so much about Ron that will be missed by our family and everyone who had the pleasure of meeting him, as long as he is in our memories, he will live forever in our hearts. - Posted by: Gene Walterson (Son-In-Law) on: Nov 12, 2013

  • Ron was my contact at Union Gospel Mission for many years beginning in the late 1990's when I began to organize a team of volunteers to help serve Thanksgiving dinner at the Mission. I came to greatly admire not only his organizational skills for that event but more importantly, his passion and commitment to serve Jesus in daily work. We connected once a year for 15 years but his impact on my own faith journey will always be with me. God has certainly welcomed a good and faithful servant into heaven. Our prayers are with the family in their sadness and we rejoice in Ron's eternal victory. - Posted by: Tim () on: Nov 12, 2013
