SALLY GLOW Peacefully, at the Victoria Hospital, on Saturday, December 7, 2013, age 96. Predeceased by her husband Gerald (Jerry) Glow, she is survived by Mel Goldenberg, her partner of 10 years, her son Murray (Martha Dorion), and grandchildren Hannah and David. Sally lived with her sister Nina Swick and Nina's husband Sam and daughter Joyce in Flin Flon when she arrived from Russia in 1927. She later moved to Winnipeg where she met and married Jerry. Sally supported Jerry tirelessly through an extended illness until his passing in 1998. Sally moved to the Portsmouth retirement residence in 2002 where she made many close friends, including Mel who became her constant companion. She was extremely happy being part of Mel's warm family circle and the Portsmouth community. Sally's funeral service was conducted at the Chesed Shel Emes on December 11, 2013 and she was laid to rest at the Shaarey Zedek Memorial Park. The family extends its gratitude to the wonderful staff at the Portsmouth and the many others who assisted her over the past few months. In lieu of flowers, those who wish may send donations to the Jewish Foundation of Manitoba or a charity of personal choice.

  • My condolences to you Murray and your family. I recall your mother well from visiting at the Portsmouth. She was truly happy there and you can take some comfort in the knowledge that the last 10 years of her life were so significant to her. I remember that she often had a smile on her face and was very cheerful. - Posted by: Gerry Posner (friend) on: Dec 18, 2013
