ANNE CWIAK It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved mother/grandmother, Anne Cwiak. On December 26, 2013, an angel came and took her home. Anne was born in Winnipeg on February 23, 1924. She was raised in East Kildonan and spent the majority of her life there. She spoke fondly of her years working at Perth's, Kelekis', Pierre's and the Winnipeg Inn. She loved to laugh, read novels, watch old movies, sew and do crossword puzzles. She loved when her husband Walter serenaded her and called her his "Bride." She was predeceased by her husband Walter, brothers Myron (Joyce) Prymak and Jerry Prymak. She is survived by her children Gary (Judy), Waltra (Terry), Ron (Linda) and Steven; grandchildren Sheri (Bill), Michael (Tara), Brian (Jolene), Carl (Caitlin), Julie (Chris), Melissa (Olli) and David; great-grandchildren Jesse, Dylan, Brenden, Kyra, Benjamin, Abby, Liam, Jonathan, Isabel, Sophie, Nadija, Pinja, and Siiri; cousin Elaine Roznatoski, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. A special thank-you to the nurses and staff at Middlechurch Home of Winnipeg for making Anne's final days comfortable. A mass celebrating her life will be held at St. Alphonsus Church, 341 Munroe Avenue on Tuesday, December 31 at 10:00 a.m. with reception to follow. Korban Funeral Chapel is in care of arrangements. Pallbearers are Michael, Brian, Carl, David, Bill and Jesse. Honorary pallbearers are Julie and Melissa. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Winnipeg Humane Society, CNIB or the Alzheimer Society. Anne was a pillar of strength and though she became blind, her courage in the face of her blindness was an inspiration to all her family.
