Condolences & Memories (3 entries)

  • Maggie, Tom, Amy and I were very sad to hear about the passing of Auntie Phyllis. I remember visiting her, Uncle Ted, cousins Glenn and Diane at their Sackfield home over fifty five years ago where I was treated to my first bar-b-cue ever! I still remember what a terrific cook and gracious entertainer she was! - Posted by: Dave, Maggie, Amy and Tom Axford (nephew) on: Jan 14, 2014

  • Auntie Phyllis and Uncle Ted always hosted me, their young niece, on family visits to Winnipeg, because Diane was my age and it gave me an instant playmate. Auntie Phyll spoiled me with hot chocolate and toast with homemade crabapple jelly for breakfast (not at all what I got in Texas). She made sure we had lots of fun things to do, like playing on Winnipeg Beach, art camps and playing in the park. When I was grown up, she was a cheerleader for Jay's and my engagement. I had followed a similar path to hers: living in Florida for a year just prior to becoming engaged. Did the trick for both of us! Our visits were unfortunately not often -- but she was always a treasured sister-in-law to Mom and Dad and a treasured Auntie to my brothers and me. I only remember her smiling, always beautiful, always impeccably dressed! She remains in our hearts. - Posted by: Janet Axford Halls (Niece) on: Jan 12, 2014

  • Deepest sympathies, Diane and Bruce - Posted by: Lenore Bridge (family friend) on: Jan 11, 2014
