EVELYN YI-LING LAU We are deeply saddened to announce the passing of Evelyn Yi-Ling Lau on January 3, 2014 at the age of 3 years and 3 months. Evelyn was the beautiful daughter of Ho and Allison Lau. Our brave little girl, who was so compassionate, would be proud to tell you that with her tragic death came a chance at life for four organ donor recipients. Evelyn was a shy, sweet girl who after spending time with someone would blossom into a silly kid that loved to laugh and giggle. She loved tickle-time, playing "shark" with Mommy and Daddy, running and being chased, and playing in the sand and water at Assiniboine's Nature Playground. Evelyn loved spending time with her family; she looked forward to taking special days off from daycare to be with Mama; or playing with her cousins at her Auntie and Uncle's or visiting at Grandma and Papa's house. Evelyn was a gorgeous little girl with the ability to light up any room with her tiny voice and kind-hearted, brilliant smile. Her light wasn't allowed to shine as bright on Earth but her light will forever shine down as a Star. A celebration of Evelyn's life will be held on Saturday, January 18, 2014 at Sturgeon Creek United Church, 207 Thompson Dr. at 1:00 p.m.

  • My heart goes out to Ho and Allison during this very difficult time. I met Evelyn for the first time at Maya's birthday party this past year. Maya and Evelyn were very close little friends and Maya looked so forward to playing with Evelyn every day. Evelyn was a beautiful and precious little girl who shared so much joy with others. Evelyn is deeply missed and will be forever in our hearts. Our love to you and your family. - Posted by: Linda Dustan Selinger (Grandma of Evelyn's little best friend Maya) on: Jan 26, 2014

  • Beautiful Evelyn, I will hold all memories of you close to my heart. My days aren't quite the same without you in them. When your group comes to the room I still look for you when they come into the door. I wait for you to grab the doll and bring her to me to wrap her up for you. I miss your sweet voice, your funny comments and your wonderful hugs! But what I miss the most is watching you and your dad or mom at the end of the day. It was always amazing to see and I am so lucky to have been witness to the crazy amount of love you all have for each other. You are definitely missed and will never be forgotten. - Posted by: Rachel M (Teacher) on: Jan 19, 2014

  • Although we are not part of your family, all it takes is one look at this beautiful child to know how loved she was, and what she gave in return. Look at that smile! Such a happy child! God lent her to you for a bit, and you obviously did a great job, Mom and Dad...now, she has shared her love with others that will live on with your and her generous and over-whelming thoughtfullness of organ donation! God Bless you all! Watch over Mom and Dad, sweet little girl! - Posted by: The Coulter Family () on: Jan 13, 2014

  • My wife Alena and I will forever miss this little angel on earth. Our hearts go out to our friends Ho and Allison on the loss of their beautiful baby girl. I will forever miss hearing her little voice call me "Uncle Wichud!" While Evelyn was still with us, you can see just how much Ho and Allison loved Evelyn and how much Evelyn loved them. She's the perfect little girl I would use as a standard for all the other children I met. So well behaved and polite, shy at first but quick to warm up to you while making you smile at every turn. Hugs and kisses from Richard, Alena and Maya. - Posted by: Richard Bellussi (Friend) on: Jan 11, 2014
