ALICE MANNING Alice Manning passed away on December 28, 2013 at the age of 95. Alice was predeceased by her Mother, Father and three Brothers. Left to mourn her passing, a sister-in-law Rose, and many nieces and nephews. Alice was a proud, longtime employee at Eaton's where she developed many lifelong friendships. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends at holiday gatherings. Alice could often be found in the company of Norma and she valued the time they spent together. Alice, Beatrice and Norma, all from Emerson, had moved to Winnipeg and lived together. In the past couple of years the three enjoyed reminiscing about the good times they had and a bond they still shared. We would like to thank the staff at Jocelyn House for the care provided to Alice and their support over the last year. A donation may be made to Jocelyn House, 177 Egerton Road, Winnipeg, MB R2M 2W7 in remembrance of Alice. At Alice's request an interment will be held at a later date. I moved to the Kent Tower Apts. at 1155 Grant Avenue in 2005. I lived on the same floor as her, we met in the laundry room and saw each other in the hallway from time to time. In our occasional chats, she did tell me she had once worked for Eaton's, that they were happy years and that the company had treated her well. Last year, I encountered a nephew in the elevator who was helping to move her to Jocelyn House and told me the sad news that she had been diagnosed with a terminal illness, I think it was lung cancer. I hope that she had a good final year at Jocelyn House and with her family and friends. She was well loved by you. - Posted by: Deborah Kunkel (Another tenant at 1155 Grant Avenue) on: Jan 12, 2014
