BARRIE EDLIN POOLE December 8, 1926 - January 15, 2014 Peacefully, and with his family by his side, Barrie passed away on January 15, 2014. He was predeceased by his parents George and Alma Poole. Left to cherish his memory is his loving wife of 58 years, Shirley (Fairclough), his sons Glenn, Brent (Marie), Shawn (Pat), his daughter Darcia Albrechtsen (Robert), and his grandchildren Corinna, Warren, Andrew, Riley, Jonathan, Amy, Jaida and Anika. Barrie worked for the C.N.R. for 43 years in the Claims Department and spent many years volunteering with the Christmas Cheer Board following his retirement. He also enjoyed many years at his summer cottage in Malachi, ON with his family and so many lake friends. Barrie was also an active and a long-standing member of Grey Street United Church. The family would like to extend their most sincere appreciation to the Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Services and the staff at Concordia Hospital for their care and compassion. A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, January 23 at Grey Street United Church (NE - Grey Street and Sandhurst Avenue). In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Grey Street United Church or the Winnipeg Humane Society.
