OLGA MELANCHUK (RAWLUK) Olga passed away peacefully at Luther Home on January 18, 2014 at the age of 96. Mom was predeceased by her husband Tony and her three sisters, Minnie, Dolly and Stella. She is survived by her sons, Tom (Kay), Ted (Veronika), and grandsons, Trevor (Cathy), Tom (Agnes) and Trent (Christie). Mom was a loving mother, grandmother, sister and friend, devoted to family. Mom and sister Dolly were Jets' season ticket holders and accompanied the Jets to Russia. Mom enjoyed many bus and Vegas trips with her friend Grace and trips to Europe and the Orient with her sisters. Mom won many awards for her prize winning African violets and was made a lifetime member of the African Violet Society. In 1970 she already had a collection of over 150 salt and pepper shakers from all over the world. Mom loved crocheting, knitting, cooking, bowling, but most of all her grandchildren. The family would like to thank the wonderful staff at Luther Home for the care and comfort they provided for Olga for the past 10 years. In accordance with Olga's wishes cremation has taken place, and there will not be a service. If friends wish, donations may be given to Luther Home, 1081 Andrews Street, Winnipeg, MB R2V 2G9 or to a charity of their choice.
