BARRIE ARNOLD STEVENSON On January 28, 2014, Barrie Arnold Stevenson, loving husband, father, grandfather and brother passed away peacefully in Chicago, IL at the age of 66. Barrie is survived by his wife of 42 years, Catherine Emilie (Johnson); his children, Scott (Line), Noel; grandchildren Nicholas, Alexandre; sister Marilyn (Jim), brothers William (Wanda), and Carl (Jo). He was predeceased by his parents Charles and Lillian Stevenson. Barrie was born on January 19, 1948 in Morris, MB. He grew up on the family Evergreen Nursery just north of Morris. Known as a hard worker who was never afraid of a challenge, whether it be in business or for his community, the province or internationally. For 38 years, Barrie's Auto Parts ran strong while serving terms as Councilor and Mayor in Morris and on the board of the International Water Coalition. He would often be found helping others, going for coffee, at Twister hockey games or gone fishing at the lake. He loved to travel anywhere his station wagons would take him, and more often than not, came back with a boat in tow. A Celebration of life will be held on Tuesday, February 4, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. at The Open Door Church. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Barrie's memory to CancerCare.
