Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryKATHRYN ANN MACKINNON October 20, 1943 - February 3, 2014 On Monday, February 3 at the age of 70, Kathryn MacKinnon passed away at the St. Pierre Hospital in St. Pierre, MB. She is survived by her daughter Elissa (Gerry), granddaughters Kate, Allie, and Riley, step children RoseAnn, Colleen (Rick), Kevin (Sharron), Michael (Chris), close friends Barbara and Judy, and numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband Joseph on January 20, 2014. Thank you to the wonderful staff at Desalaberry District Health Centre for their care and compassion shown to Kathryn. As per Kathryn's wishes, cremation has taken place, and no funeral service will be held. In keeping with her passion for animals, in lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Quagga Stray Cat Rescue in Winnipeg. Mailing address: P.O. Box 552, Winnipeg, MB, R3C 2J3.

Kathryn was a dear friend -- and I grew to know her well during our lunch time walks at Naylor. I loved her wry sense of humour, and the fact that there was such a kind heart beneath that cool and witty exterior. She was courageous -- and would always stand up for what she believed in.
