My Dad and Jack were good friends, going way back. Our families occasionally socialized -- the one time that really sticks in my mind was taking the Fainmans on their first real fishing trip, to Blindfold Lake. Dad and Jack used to golf together, but more often than not their plans would be canceled due to an imminent arrival -- Dad would get a phone call that always started with same cheerfully ironic sentence: "It doesn't look good." That didn't mean anything ominous for the baby -- just for the golfing. - Posted by: Scott Swanson (Family friend) on: Dec 07, 2014

I was in law school with Faigie and then shared an office with her for several years. Faigie and Jack hosted a number of parties at their place. Jack was always a gracious host. I heard from many of his patients what a great doctor he was and I could believe it. His love for Faigie always showed. I remember he proudly displayed a picture of Faigie on a beach somewhere. I'm glad they were enjoying another beach. - Posted by: Wendy Barker (Friend of Wife) on: Mar 11, 2014

Our deepest sympathies go out to the family of a friend of many years ago. We always remember Jack as one of the best: a very fine man. It was some very wise words from Jack that helped us, as new parents, to get through those first few months after the birth of our daughter Melanie. We know that he will be deeply missed by all who knew him. - Posted by: Jack and Shelagh Stevenson (Friends of many years ago.) on: Mar 10, 2014

Our sincere condolences for your loss. We enjoyed Jack's wit and keen knowledge of the game. He was often heard predicting the next play..and many times right! We no longer sat next to him in the new stadium, however, those memories will remain with us. - Posted by: Diane and Michel Koch-Schulte (Sat next to Jack for many years at the Bomber games) on: Mar 10, 2014

Dr. Jack was my Doctor for more years than I can remember. His kindness through my pregnancies will never be forgotten. The day after he delivered my daughter on Apr 14/92, he was coming to see me at the Vic. My sister had bought me a gorgeous robe for the hospital and he glanced up as I was walking down the hall. He then looked down and saw the Moosie slippers my son had bought me, the antlers flapping up and down. He let out the biggest laugh I had ever heard from him and he couldn't stop. Thus my daughter was given a middle name of Jacqueline. Thanks for all you did for me over the years Doc. My sincere condolences to the family. - Posted by: Andrea Hall (Patient) on: Mar 10, 2014

I remember Jack as the father of my very close friend Shane, dating back to the mid sixties. What a wonderful man, with a huge beautiful smile, and a terrific sense of humor, who was a father and a friend to his kids. I always admired that relationship. He was also my teacher in med school. He had a great attitude and work ethic, and really taught how to care for patients. He set many examples for me. My condolences. - Posted by: Willie Miller (Friend, and he was my teacher) on: Mar 09, 2014
