I have just learned of Janet's passing and I wish to extend my deepest sympathy to the entire Taylor family. Their kindness and hospitality helped to create wonderful childhood memories for me and for many others on Churchill Drive so many years ago. - Posted by: Sharon Lebeda (nee Pilkey) () on: Mar 20, 2014

We were honoured to be able to attend the celebration of Janet's life this evening. The large number of people at the gathering and the tributes so lovingly given are a testament to the fact that her footprint on this earth was large. Once again John, our sincere condolences on your loss. - Posted by: Dennis and Sharon McGavock (Dennis is John's cousin) on: Mar 12, 2014

I was shocked and deeply saddened to learn of Janet's passing. We were part of the same graduating class at Churchill High in 1966. Last August, Janet and John very kindly let me stay with them when I was in town (from North Vancouver) for our annual class gathering. It was a great chance to reconnect after so many years. I just wish now we had had more time to catch up. - Posted by: Frank Stirk (High school friend) on: Mar 12, 2014

A consummate professional; we became friends after first meeting as colleagues; We had the best visits - marathon visits due to the time in between, and I was looking forward to having more free time to grow our friendship. She was smart, caring, reflective and compassionate and I knew she was someone whom I was glad and proud to call a friend and whom I wanted to see more of and get to know better. - Posted by: neta friesen (colleague and friend) on: Mar 12, 2014

I was very shocked and saddened to hear of Janet's passing. I have had the pleasure of getting to know Janet through our Monday evening basketball games. Along with her sisters, Jill and Jackie, she always brought a ray of light, laughter and happiness to our evenings. The sisters are all so close, and I understand how this will be a tremendous loss for them. My thoughts are with them and their families. - Posted by: Gail McIntosh (friend) on: Mar 11, 2014

Hello John. Last I caught a glimpse of Janet was at the Tom Hendry theatre. She was chatting with a couple and I was with two of my girls, so did not want to interrupt to say hello. Second thought -- maybe should have interrupted. I am currently out of town and not returning until April, so unfortunately sending regrets for attending Janet's life celebration. Deepest Condolences. Chris - Posted by: Chris McGavock Davey (Cousin to Janet's partner John) on: Mar 09, 2014

Janet gave my teaching career a kickstart by always being there whenever I needed advice, support, or a shoulder to cry on when I first arrived at Chapman school. She was a professional in every sense of the word in all the capacities that she held as an educator. I have several items at my cottage that have reminded me of her over and over again since I bought them at her yard sale in the late 70's. John, I am so sorry to hear that she is no longer with us. My deepest sympathies.......Ted - Posted by: Ted Mickaniec (Work collegue and friend) on: Mar 08, 2014
