Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryZIGMUND JOSEPH WOLFE February 19, 1935 - March 5, 2014 Peacefully with family at his side, Zigmund passed away at Seven Oaks Hospital at the age of 79. Zigmund was predeceased by his parents Walter and Tillie Wolfe and his sister Joanne. Left to cherish his memory, his loving wife of 58 years Theresa, son Barry, daughter Vivian (Jim), grandchildren Jessica (Ryan), Sarah, Kaitlyn, Stephanie and great-grandson Emmett. Zigmund was born February 19, 1935 in Gardenton, Manitoba where he resided until he met and married Theresa on September 29, 1956. Once married, they moved to Lockport before finally settling and raising a family in Winnipeg. Dad had a life-long passion for educating and enjoying a fulfilling career as a teacher for 37 years. Once retired, Dad and Mom took full advantage of cottage life in Manitoba by spending numerous summers in their beloved Winnipeg Beach cabin. Dad and Mom enjoyed travelling to different parts of the United States and playing four handed cribbage with friends and family. Something Dad always took a great pride in were his gardens at both his city and lake properties; they were always brimming with fresh vegetables, fruits and beautiful flowers. Blessed with four grandchildren, Zigmund took an active role in teaching, nurturing and taking care of his granddaughters. A favourite time of year for the whole family, Christmas was a special occasion that we all looked forward to. From caroling to giving thanks for the many blessings of his family, Zigmund embodied the true meaning of the Christmas season. Above all, Zigmund will be remembered for his patience, wisdom and the unconditional love he had for his family. Thankfully, before his passing, Zigmund had the opportunity to meet his great-grandson, Emmett - something he was looking forward to throughout his brave and courageous battle with cancer. In keeping with Zigmund's wishes, cremation has taken place and a private family memorial will take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Seven Oaks Hospital for all the care and attention Dad received during his stay. The family deeply appreciates all of the staff who ensured Dad, as well as his family, was comfortable and well looked after.
