Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryELIZABETH WOOD (nee SUDERMAN) July 27, 1948 March 13, 2014 With heavy hearts we announce the sudden passing of Elizabeth Wood, wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend, early on Thursday, March 13, 2014 at age 65. She will be fondly remembered by her husband Lorne of 46 years, five children and their spouses Naomi (Brad), Karen (Darryl), Michael (Lori), Nathan (Riz) and Liz (Donovan), grandchildren, siblings, aunt, nieces and nephews, numerous other family members, and friends. Her favourite activity was spending time with her family and especially her many grandchildren. The time she spent filled her life with joy and you knew family always came first. There was always time for family dinners, bonfires, tea parties, activities and baking. She also loved painting, crafts, sewing, taking photos, gardening and flowers. Liz felt peace and comfort from tending her gardens and showing them to all who came to visit. You never left their place with an empty stomach, without feeling like you were family, nor having had interesting conversations. For over 25 years she fought hard to overcome Lyme Disease. She worked tirelessly to create awareness and help those who suffered and needed help, despite often being quite sick with the disease herself. She kept a positive attitude throughout it all. Cremation has taken place as per her wishes and a Celebration of Life Service will be held on Saturday, March 22, 2014 at 2:30 p.m. at the Church of God of Prophecy, 414 Tweed Street in Winnipeg. In Liz's memory, if you wish to donate you may do so to the Dr. E. Murakami Centre for Lyme Research, Education & Assistance Society, at info@murakamicentreforlyme.org, or phone (604) 869-9922. Rest in peace until the Resurrection.

Although its been years since I had seen her, she was also an Aunt whom I remember being kind and always lent a helping hand. But what I remember most was her infectious and beautiful laugh. I think This quote below depicts her accurately when it came to her advocacy in her fight for Lyme awareness. Our deepest condolences to Uncle Lorne and family. “There is a stubbornness about me that never can bear to be frightened at the will of others. My courage always rises at every attempt to intimidate me.” ― Jane Austen, Pride and Prejudice - Posted by: Dorothy and Joel Korsunsky (Niece) on: Mar 24, 2014

Liz will always be fondly remembered in the hearts of The Winnipeg Wellness Expo team. She was not only a force behind Lyme Disease in the expo but first and foremost, our true friend. She always had a big smile for everyone who visited her booth and listened to people's stories of struggle with such great empathy for them. She will be truly missed by all of us. Our sincere condolences to Lorne and her family. - Posted by: Dolores & Rick Thiessen (Friend) on: Mar 22, 2014

Our sincere condolences to the family of Liz. We met many years ago. In spite of her constant struggles due to poor health, mostly related to lyme disease, she was a strong advocate for lyme awareness. She will not be forgotten for the determination and care for others. RIP..till we meet again. - Posted by: Maurice & Josie Drewniak (friends) on: Mar 20, 2014
