Condolences & Memories (5 entries)

  • I know that this message is late but I thought I should say I am sorry Irene always had amazing tastes and styles that will never be forgotten with her amazing "Tinkie Winkie" when her glass was empty just to name a few. I had only meet her once when I was young (as I am only 12) but when I meet her at 5 she was such a nice person to me - Posted by: Wilson Karch (Grandson of William Copland) on: Nov 20, 2015

  • WE are sending our love and sincere condolences to all of the Copland family; on the news of the loss of their truly fine mother, mother in law,and grandmother. Irene will be missed by all who had the pleasure of being in her company. Diane and I had the privilege to enjoy Irene's grace and fun loving personality. On numerous occasions we laughed our faces off with friends and family while wearing the funny hats around the dinner table at the cottage. Mrs "C" had the ability to make you feel, not just welcome, but at ease. "Hats on" to you Irene, you will be missed;though forever fondly remembered. • Mrs Copland was a vibrant, energetic neighbour who lived down the island path from where I grew up on Gun Club Island. She was a long distance swimmer long before it was fashionable and she took bets that she could swim around a nearby (but expansive) island and she won! Her laugh was infectious and memorable. I loved our island Thanksgiving get-togethers. She loved to play cards, host parties, play the organ and sing. She taught me "Knees Up Mother Brown" and "Good Night Irene" and so now I say thank you and God bless you, Irene. - Posted by: Marla Klassen (Friend) on: May 08, 2014

  • My husband Alex knew the family and would tell me about Neil's many adventures! I am sorry to see that he now has lost both of his parents. I am living in Amber Meadows now since I lost my husband 3 years ago. - Posted by: Renate Nolius (none) on: May 07, 2014

  • Have many fond memories of parties both in Wpg. and at the cottage. Our condolences to the family. - Posted by: Doug & Irene Gateson (Friends) on: May 07, 2014
