TED (THEODORE) JOHNSON May 15, 1936 - July 1, 2014 Peacefully on the evening of July 1, 2014 Ted passed away at the age of 78 with family by his side. Ted was raised in Elmwood, worked for many years and up to his retirement at Griffin Steel in Transcona and was a proud member of the Royal Canadian Legion for over 25 years. Ted was married to the love of his life, Norah, who predeceased him in 2002. Ted and Norah had their home in West Kildonan and enjoyed over 30 years of cottaging at Pointe du Bois. Together they enjoyed many trips to visit family in California as well as fitting in a couple of family Caribbean Cruises. Ted's recent years have been spent at Amber Meadow retirement home. Ted will be sadly missed by Ellen and Dave (step- daughter and son-in-law), Cheryl and Brian; Warren and Kimberley; (grandchildren and spouses) Michael, James, Tanner and Paige (great-grandchildren) and Lynda and Gerry and his many other nieces and nephews. Rest in Peace our Dear Ted! Ted's family wishes to thank the staff of Unit 1, 5th floor at Seven Oaks Hospital for their kindness and caring during Ted's short stay there. In accordance with Ted's wishes cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held on Tuesday, July 8 at 10:00 a.m. at Thomson Funeral Home, 669 Broadway.
