HELEN OSHUST (nee KOLABINSKI) It is with deep sadness yet gentle relief that we announce the passing of our beloved wife, mother, and grandmother Helen Oshust of Erickson at the age of 79 years. Helen passed away in Edmonton, Alberta on July 17, 2014 at the Capital Care Norwood Hospice with her family by her side. Left to celebrate her life and cherish her memory are her husband Henry; children Peter (Alyson) and Susan (Terry); her grandchildren Kelsey, Chenoa, Bronwyn, and Derry; relatives and dear friends. Helen was predeceased by her beloved grandson Jeremy, her parents John and Lena, brothers Victor and Ludwig, and six other siblings who passed before she was born. Helen shared a passion with Henry for the out-of-doors; gardening, picking mushrooms and berries, scouring the fields for artifacts, and having cookouts at the "Dude Ranch" on Clear Lake's south shore. Her love of flowers and talent for growing plants was always in evidence in the pots and bouquets arrayed about her home. In keeping with Helen's wishes a private inurnment will be held in Erickson at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations in her name may be made to the Capital Care Foundation or the Erickson Health Centre.
