BRIAN D. LEITCH
Born: Sep 30, 1959
Date of Passing: Jul 08, 2014
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryBRIAN D. LEITCH With profound sadness and heavy hearts, we announce the sudden passing of Brian, our precious, beloved son, brother, uncle and cousin following heart surgery on Tuesday, July 8, 2014 in Los Angeles, CA. Born in Winnipeg on September 30, 1959, Brian acquired his education in Winnipeg, Montreal, Toronto, University of Manitoba and F.I.T. in New York. Brian was recognized as a creative genius with a strong work ethic in the industry in which he worked as a creative director and journalist. He was very artistic with outstanding communication skills which was evident at a very early age. He followed his dreams, excelling in any project he undertook and was highly successful in his chosen career while residing in England, France, New York and California. We were all so very proud of Brian and his many accomplishments, too numerous to mention. Brian was a very intelligent and personable young man with a zest for life, never ever complaining or angry, with a quick wit, a great sense of humour while living life to the fullest, travelling the world making life long friends along the way. He experienced many challenges in his life but always persevered and faced them all with courage and a positive attitude. He was compassionate, generous, sensitive and mature beyond his years with personality plus, a young man with a true sense of style always aware of his appearance and surroundings. Left to cherish fond memories of Brian are his parents Marilyn and Don; brothers Bruce, Glenn and Mark, as well as aunties, uncles and cousins. There will be a celebration of his life by his many friends and peers in Los Angeles and a private family gathering will take place at a later date. Brian will be greatly missed but his legacy will live on in our hearts and thoughts forever.

Have been looking for Brian for years. Am so sad to read this? We were FIT friends, roommates for a year in 1984, and would often meet him for lunch at Bloomies! Why did hr leave us so soon? - Posted by: Sara Nardi (FIT College Roomate) on: Jun 05, 2015

As a friend, Brian had that kind of magic that allowed you to be painfully honest, real, flawed, without ever feeling vulnerable. Brian didn't judge. He was smart as a whip, witty, brave, patient and kind. He was an incredible friend. A truly great and important person in my life. I know that he felt very accomplished in his life, he told me he understood that human connection was the most important thing to pursue. The reason why we are all here. He is still here with me in so many ways, yet he's no longer here. That's the hard part. I miss you Brian. Comfort, love and prayers to his family and to his vast pockets of friends scattered around the globe. - Posted by: Connie Bang (Friend) on: Aug 06, 2014

Had the pleasure of meeting Brian a few years back in the big apple. Very sweetly, he followed me back to Glasgow to see what all the fuss was about. Perhaps the trip was to investigate from where Charlotte and my madness derived! It's with great sadness I digest the news of Brian's passing. Too young, too cool, too witty. Thanks for the laughs and hilariously (and beautifully) written emails. Was only talking about you last week to Dougie- you guys had crossed paths recently. RIP, Brian X - Posted by: Angus Purden (Friend) on: Aug 05, 2014

Brian, I salut you, and cherish the memories we shared together...I will always be in awe of you and hold you fondly in my heart. You left the world more beautiful and interesting than the way you found it. I will never forget your help, advice or guidance...but most importantly the years of our friendship and deep conversations about life. My prayers to your family, as well as to your family-like friends throughout the world Stefan - Posted by: Stefan Campbell (friend) on: Aug 04, 2014

Our memories of Brian are as a boy and as a young man. We last spoke with him in Paris when he was living there, and thereafter quite proudly followed his exceptional career through social media and web sites, which were his natural mediums. We feel sadness for Don and Marilyn because we know we all want our children to survive our own passing, and for Bruce, Glenn and Mark for their loss of a very special brother. - Posted by: Ed and Liz Roe (Uncle and Aunt) on: Aug 04, 2014

Brian was an amazing friend, caring, intelligent, and incredibly fun. His unique aesthetic vision, intellectual curiosity, and his love and affection for his friends enriched and changed the lives of many people. Rest in peace, my friend. Alex - Posted by: Alex Pirolini (friend) on: Jul 29, 2014

So sad to hear of the loss of one of my best friends from high school. Brian hung out with Christine Pearson and myself, always ensuring that we were fashionable in our appearance and keeping us in stitches along the way. He was an absolute delight and will be missed by many. My condolences to his family and many friends... he's definitely gone too soon! - Posted by: cathy campbell (schnell) (friend) on: Jul 23, 2014

To Marilyn, Don and brothers Mark, Glen, and Bruce: We are very sorry and shocked to hear of Brian's passing. We remember well those Christmas mornings on Athlone. I also remember that I wasn't a very good babysitter by letting Brian escape to the next door neighbour's house while I slept on top of the books I brought over to study (???). Condolences to all of you. Uncle Bob - Posted by: Bob and Lori Roe (Uncle and Aunt) on: Jul 22, 2014
