MARJORIE LOREEN (ASKIN) MARCELLE July 23, 1925 - July 2, 2014 It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Marjorie Loreen Marcelle on Wednesday, July 2, 2014 peacefully at River East Personal Care Home. She was predeceased by her parents Richard and Florence Askin, husband Clarence Marcelle, her son Brian Wold, daughter-in-law Joyce, and brother Kenneth. Left to mourn her passing are her sisters Ruth and Joan (Merle), brothers Gordon (Irene) and Arthur (Margorie), stepdaughter Carol, grandchildren Trevor (Deanna), Andrea (Jason) and Aaron, along with great-grandchildren Jordan and Danica, and many family and friends in Arcola, SK. Marjorie worked as a telephone operator in Arcola, SK before she moved to Winnipeg to attend a Stenographer course. She married Harry Wold who passed away suddenly leaving her a widow at a young age. After time, she married Clarence (Babe) Marcelle and worked for many years in Kenora, ON as a Stenographer. They retired and lived most of their lives together in Clearwater Bay, ON in Lake of the Woods where she loved to tend to her garden, go boating and have her family spend time at the lake on the weekends. Our beloved "Nan" has left a great void in our hearts and she will be truly missed. A celebration of Marjorie's life will be held on July 26, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. at Thomson "In the Park" Funeral Home, 1291 McGillivray Blvd. A reception will be held following the service with interment at Thomson "In the Park" Cemetery. The family wishes to thank the nurses and staff at River East Personal Care Home for their kind and compassionate care. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to CancerCare Manitoba, 675 McDermot Avenue, Winnipeg, MB R3E 0V9. THOMSON "IN THE PARK" 204-925-1120 Condolences may be sent to www.thomsoninthepark.com

I have many fond memories of growing up in the 1930's, walking to school one and half miles and remember in one case in the winter the temperature was -60F. We always kept in touch in our life after school and living in different parts of the country. She will be missed. - Posted by: Gordon & Irene Askin (Older brother and wife) on: Jul 23, 2014

Enjoyed meeting my Aunt a very gracious and beautiful lady. Fondly remember playing tether ball with her son, my cousin Brian. - Posted by: Debra Martin (Ruth's oldest daughter) on: Jul 19, 2014

While growing up, I was blessed to have Marjorie as my big sister. I am going to miss our many long distance phone calls. She will always have a special place in my heart and all the wonderful memories we shared. I love you dear sister. Hugs, Ruth - Posted by: Ruth Kirk (Sister) on: Jul 19, 2014
