Born: Jun 14, 1924
Date of Passing: Jul 17, 2014
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryANTHONY ANDREW CRAIG DUNHILL It is with deep sadness that we share the news of the death of our father, Craig Dunhill (nee Kálmán Gyulai in Budapest Hungary, June 14, 1924) on Thursday, July 17, 2014 at Deer Lodge Centre, Winnipeg. Craig was lovingly devoted to his wife Helen (1923 - 2003) and to his three children (Helen, Maria, and Richard) whom he brought to Canada from Hungary in 1957. Once settled in Canada, Craig continued his career as a pharmacist, working first at the Winnipeg Municipal Hospital and then at Misericordia Hospital, before becoming Director of Pharmacy at St. Boniface Hospital, where he remained until his retirement in 1986. Here he introduced many innovations often by courageously "rocking the boat". Craig found much pleasure and fulfillment from his work as a pharmacist, as well as from his cherished friendships with a close-knit community of fellow Hungarian refugees. Craig is survived by his daughter Helen, son Richard, granddaughters Catherine, Jessica, Andrea, Greta and Jennifer, and his great-granddaughter Gwendolyn. His daughter Maria died in Honolulu in 2007. The family would like to thank the kind staff in Lodge 6East at Deer Lodge Centre for their care. As we say goodbye to Craig, a Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Holy Cross Catholic Church, 252 Dubuc Street, Winnipeg on August 28, 2014 at 1:00 p.m., immediately followed by a reception in the basement of the church. All are welcome.

Our Pharmacy Department shares your sadness regarding the passing of "Mr. D." . His courage and vision were essential components of the passion for excellence which flourished under his leadership, and laid the foundation for our current practice. On a personal note, I will always remember with fondness his thoughtful phone calls during the holiday season. In these phone conversations, his genuine warmth and his deep regards for the staff here at St. B. were very touching indeed. Our deepest regards to all family & friends - Rick - Posted by: Rick Thurmeier (Pharmacist, St. Bonface Hospital) on: Jul 28, 2014
