FLORENCE DOROTHY DACKOW (nee WAPLES) Florence Dorothy Dackow passed on July 11, 2013. She is fondly remembered by her family and friends. Florence was the beloved wife of Orest and mother of Donna, Heather, and Trevor. She is survived by her sister, Sheila Decruynre, and her brother, Ralph Waples. She was predeceased by her father, Rodney Waples (1996), and her mother, Helen Waples (2001). Florence was born and raised in Winnipeg. She attended Churchill High and Tec Voc. She was employed by Ernst and Wolfe. On September 20, 1958 she married Orest Dackow and they remained together until her passing. She and Orest raised their three children in St. Vital. She was known for her love of nature, her love of animals and her ability to find a kind word for everyone she met. Her children remember her ability to make them unique birthday cakes, specialty Halloween costumes, one of a kind stuffed animals and her unfailing love and her support for their endeavors. Florence spent summers at the family cottage at Victoria Beach where her constant attention to fun things to do made the family cottage a gathering place for children. The tradition of summer at Victoria Beach continued after Florence and Orest moved to Denver, CO in 1980. Florence's memory will remain with the family as long as birds sing, children play and the rainbows appear in the sky after a storm. A celebration of life will be held at 2:30 p.m. on July 26 at 139 Victoria Blvd., Victoria Beach.
