BERTHA SCHNEIDER Bertha Schneider passed away peacefully on July 29, 2014 at the Yorkton & District Nursing Home. She was predeceased by her loving husband, William and her son, Mervin as well as her brothers, Martin and George Smith. She leaves to mourn her passing and cherish her memory her daughter, Anita; her grandchildren, Susan, Todd and Brant; her brothers, Art (Mary) Smith of Burnaby, BC, Albert Smith of Dryden, ON and sister, Eva Lowry of Winnipeg, MB. Bertha was born in Manitoba in 1922 and moved to Rokeby in 1963 spending 35 years on the farm. She lived out her final years in Yorkton. Bertha was known as an avid gardener and celebrated horticulturist and will be remembered for her love of gardening, cooking and time spent with her many friends in Yorkton. A Visitation for family and friends will be held on Thursday, July 31, 2014 from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. from the Chapel of Christie's Funeral Home, Yorkton, SK. The Funeral Service will be held on Friday, August 1, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. from St. Andrew's United Church, Yorkton, SK. The interment will follow in the Yorkton City Cemetery, Yorkton, SK. Friends so wishing may make donations in Bertha's memory to the Canadian National Institute for the Blind (www.cnib.ca) or St. Andrew's United Church, Yorkton, SK (www.standrewsyorkton.ca). Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Christie's Funeral Home & Crematorium, Yorkton, Saskatchewan.
