BOB MUIR It is with deep sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Bob (Robert) Muir on August 23, 2014 at the age of 87. Bob was born Robert William Muir in Winnipeg on April 28, 1927 and is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Joyce (Pegler), his four daughters, Lori, Barb, Donna and Sharon and sons-in-law Louis and Brian. His grandchildren Kyle, Marc, Amber, Colette, Gavin, Anjel, Chad and great-grandson Grayson will miss their Grandpa's love. Bob is predeceased by his parents Irene and John Muir, his brothers Thomas and Jim, and his sister Anne. Bob was working with Ashdown Wholesale when he met and married Joyce. Soon after their marriage he began his career with Neilson Chocolates as a salesman at which he excelled and won many awards during his 35 years. Bob cared for the customers he served in Northwest Ontario and Winnipeg and was genuinely appreciated by them for his warmth and honesty. At Bob's request cremation has taken place and a private family service will be held. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer Society of Manitoba.

Condolences & Memories (5 entries)

  • So sorry Joyce of your loss. I remember when you met Bob. Did you ever go back to West Hawk Lake? My sympathy to your family. mkinley@mts.net - Posted by: Muriel Kinley (friend) on: Sep 09, 2014

  • My thoughts and prayers are with you all. Barb, your dad was a very special man. Always quick witted and making people smile with his jokes and wonderful sense of humour. I always loved looking after your parents when they came in to the branch. He will be missed by many. - Posted by: Liana Klapecki (Barb's former co-worker at St. Mary's ACU) on: Sep 02, 2014

  • I was so sad to hear the news. If you were here, I would give you a big hug. The photo of Bob is recognizable, so he has not changed much. My condolences to you and your family, with love. - Posted by: Barb Moore (Friend) on: Sep 01, 2014

  • As Bob's neighbour , i remember meeting him when he was taking one of his walks (with his little beige cap i loved so much that i bought my own) at all times of the day and he would always stop just to say a friendly Hi or for a short talk. He is missed. - Posted by: Roger () on: Aug 30, 2014

  • Bob was one of those special people. Always good for a laugh with a story or two.I worked in Winnipeg from 1960-1965 when I then took a move to St Louis Missouri to originate the Export Business for Neilsons. We had many encounters at sales meetings and Branch meetings. Bob was a real true "drummer". God Bless You. Regards to your family. - Posted by: Gordon Mclauchlin (fellow Salesman with Neilsons) on: Aug 30, 2014
