Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryGRANT BRIAN BRUSEGARD August 3, 1957 - August 27, 2014 Peacefully on August 27, 2014 in the presence of his wife, a golden heart stopped beating. Grant was born in St. Boniface Hospital to Elaine and Brian Brusegard. Grant was predeceased by his grandparents Mary and John Klym, Cecil and Lillian Brusegard, his father, Brian (only eight short months ago), and his father-in-law Al Feist. He leaves to mourn his devoted wife Michele; his loving mother Elaine Saxton (Jim); sister Cheryl (Brian) and children Breanne, Brittany and Jordan; sister Leanne (Don) and children Jenna and Ryan; mother-in-law Carole Feist; sister-in-law Alison (Les) and daughter Chloe; as well as many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. In his early years Grant enjoyed water polo, hockey and all outdoor activities. Grant moved to Vancouver in 1978, and had called it home ever since. Working as a community psychiatric nurse, he met the love of his life, Michele, on the picket lines and they have been inseparable since. Grant loved nature and the two of them were always off camping, hiking and exploring the world. Grant was a loving husband, son, brother, uncle and brother-in-law. Through his short, but well lived life Grant had many friends because of his compassion, caring and humorous nature. He will be dearly missed. The service will be held at Unity of Vancouver Church, September 20 at 2:00 p.m. At this time, family requests no flowers please and donations can be made to: BC Cancer Foundation , 150 - 686 W. Every year when we were younger we use to drive to Manitoba to visit our grandparents. My mom's parents and her youngest sister, Elaine lived in Winnipeg with her family and her children, Grant, Cheryl and Leanne. Well Grant was a wild man.. he use to water ski barefoot and he climbed a huge tree and hung by his legs upside down making his mother frantic and scaring the rest of us. He was adventurous and courageous and he always always was smiling and happy. Truly one in a million. - Posted by: Carole (Skolney) Sypes & family (cousin) on: Sep 09, 2014
