RUBINSTEIN (nee WATERMAN) July 7, 1936 - August 5, 2014 With immense sadness, Brenlee Carrington Trepel, Brent, Skyler and Sierra Trepel announce the passing of their beloved mother, mother-in-law and grandmother, Ruth Rita Waterman Rubinstein. Ruth was born in Winnipeg, the adored only child of Sheila and Louis Waterman. Ruth was a trailblazer and a remarkable Renaissance woman. She was a piano teacher and an award-winning pianist, before her marriage to her late husband Charlie Rubinstein. Subsequent to her marriage, Ruth worked at RW Pharmacy as a pharmacy technician and manager alongside Charlie, her pharmacist husband, with her father, Louis Waterman, as their business partner. Ruth was a free-lance writer for publications such as the Winnipeg Tribune and the Jewish Post and also edited best-selling books. Ruth was a brilliant student with a genius IQ. She was passionate about reading, research, writing, education, nutrition, vitamins, books, grammar, football and baseball. Ruth loved music, art, ballet, theatre, movies and TV. Ruth obtained her bachelor's degree in nutritional biochemistry and became a respected nutritionist. She wrote a series of articles for the University of Manitoba Faculty of Medicine website on nutrition and women's health. These articles won an unsolicited award for best nutritional website. Her passion for vitamins and nutrition helped many people and a number credit her with saving their lives. Even prominent physicians learned about vitamins and nutrition from her and credited her with expanding their knowledge. Ruth's family was her greatest passion and she was most proud of her two grandchildren, Skyler and Sierra, and of the brilliant, outstanding people they are. Ruth's volunteerism and philanthropy were wide ranging. Ruth will forever be loved, remembered and missed. Donations in Ruth's memory may be made to Friends of the Canadian Museum for Human Rights or to the charity of your choice.

I only recently found out about your Mom's passing, and wanted to send a message of condolence to you and your family.
