Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryJOAN BERYL SOPER June 26, 1926 September 3, 2014 Our beloved Mom, Nana, "Grape" Nana, Great-Great-Nana, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, September 3, 2014 at Golden West Centennial Lodge. She was predeceased by her husband Glen, son Ken, parents, sisters, brother and in-laws. Mom is survived by her loving children, Carol, Brenda, Annette (Jeff), and daughter-in-law Susie; grandchildren Tara (Steve), Kelly (Cheryl), Cristina, Miracle, Sheri (Raj), Alaine (Shane), Ashley (Anita), Randy, Danielle (Kevin), Chris (Nicole); great-grandchildren Zachary, Tyler, Mason, Stadon, Mia, Nick, Jaya, Samantha, Alic, Jessie, Reese, Michael, Jayden, Alessa, Dylan, Courtney and Melina; great-great-granddaughters Rhylynn and Sophia; also "adoptees" Shirley, Donna, "Bad Boy" Scotty and her special little guy Steven. Mom is also survived by many nieces and nephews and families in England and Australia. Mom was born in England, our very own "Royal Highness" and came to Canada in 1946 as a British War Bride, and settled in Killarney, Manitoba. In 1958, she moved her family to Winnipeg. Mom was employed at Canada Post and then Deer Lodge Hospital, where she remained until her retirement. Mom was a beautiful, kind, refined lady. She was very creative, knitting sweaters, afghans, sock monkeys and Lamb Chops. She was always eager to lend a helping hand. Mom was dedicated to her family, and enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren. She was very proud of all of them, and enjoyed sharing her "dickie donuts" with them. She always said they kept her young, and gave her something to look forward to. The family would like to thank everyone at Golden West Centennial Lodge, especially all the staff on the 3rd floor, for looking after our Mom with kindness, respect and compassion. As per Mom's request, cremation has taken place, and a Celebration of Life will be held for family and friends at a later date to be announced. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Mom's memory to the Alzheimer's Society of Manitoba. "A mother holds her children's hands for a little while. Their hearts forever". We love you Mom

I still can't believe you're gone. I remember all the times we spent together, all of our girls days, and when I'd answer the phone and I'd hear the familiar "'Ello Sammie". You lived an amazing life and you will always be remembered by all the hearts you've touched <3 It's not goodbye, its just 'see you later" - Posted by: Samantha (Great-Grand Daughter) on: Sep 07, 2014

I was a very good friend of Carol's at Lord Selkirk School. I remember her Mom as a very elegant lady and I liked her very much. Please accept my deepest condolences Carol, Brenda, and Annette. - Posted by: Judy Dynkavitch (nee Bowden) (Friend of Carol) on: Sep 06, 2014
