I was so sorry to hear of the passing of my Uncle Jack. My most sincere condolences to Aunt Betty and family. I remember so well how much my mother enjoyed her trip to visit Jack and Betty in Winnipeg when I was just a little girl, how much fun she had and how much being able to visit with you meant to her. I am sorry for the late condolence letter which I am sending on behalf of the Ajax Van Winkles - we only just heard of your loss. Jack was such a humorous and entertaining story teller and like all the Van Winkle men had a presence to fill up a room. I am sorry to think he is gone. Tomorrow I will practice a random act of kindness and think of him when I do so. Ardel - Posted by: Ardel (Van Winkle) Johnston (Niece) on: Sep 24, 2014

I'm grateful to have the privilege to have known John - even for a short time - and to be able to tell him that his greatest treasures - Betty and family - make him a very rich man! The love that holds them all together is like gold. He agreed with me - with a big smile on his face. I loved his perspective on life. He will live on in the hearts of many who continue to love him and hold him close. - Posted by: Diane Guilford (Friend) on: Sep 18, 2014

Betty - my sincere sympathy to you and your family on the loss of your beloved husband, father and grandfather. John's passing will definitely leave this world a lesser place, he was a truly caring person. My heart is with you. Davilyn - Posted by: Davilyn Eyolfson (Acquaintance) on: Sep 08, 2014
